Merry Christmas

My mom and grandma took me to see Santa a few weeks ago. There were some other kids there that were crying, but not me. Santa and me are good friends. I told him everything I wanted (basically anything I can put in my mouth). I haven't opened any presents yet, but I have a feeling it's going to be a good Christmas for me.

What's Been Going On In My Life

I love to play in my Baby Einstein activity saucer. My parents like me to play music for them.

And while I've been writing for a few months, I've recently begun to make noises that sound like words. My mom likes this video.

I've also started saying ba ba ba da da da.

Here's a nice picture of me with my mom. Don't you like the bow in my hair?

Swim Lessons

Last week, I started swimming lessons at the Michigan Athletic Club. My Mom gets in the water with me, and there is an instructor and a few other children and their moms. Some of them don't like the water all the time, but I love it. I get to kick in the water, and splash, and push off the wall and sing songs and dance in the water.

We use the noodles to help me float.

Besides swimming, I also get to float on this frog and splash the water.

I'm really good at kicking.

After swimming and drying off, I stay warm in my ducky robe.

Happy Halloween

Last week was my first Halloween. I'm not sure how I feel about this holiday. Mom and Dad got a bug costume for me from one of Mom's friends. They said I looked really cute, but what kind of parents make a pretty girl dress up as a bug? They promise me I'll like the holiday better when I grow up, because then I'll get to go out and get candy. (I just hope my dad won't eat all of it.)

I Love My Grandparents

I'm lucky to have some wonderful grandparents. Grandma Pam and Grandpa Bob live in Nebraska, but love me so much that they bought a place in town for when they come to visit me. Grandma Linda lives in town, which is lucky for me. I see her a lot and we go shopping and do other fun stuff. Sometimes, she'll even pick me up from school.

Fun Hats

Like every beautiful girl, I like to accessorize. I have a pink bow for my hair, a floppy ear hat with tassles on top and a fur-lined winter hat (the gloves were still attached to the top).

With Mom and Dad

I have the best parents around. They are always doing fun stuff with me and teach me a lot of new stuff.

Here I am at work with Dad. As you've likely noticed, I've had to take over the blog because Dad wasn't doing a good job and got way behind. I'm having a lot of neat adventures and I want to tell you all about them.

I got to go to a dinner at Dad's work before Midnight Madness. There were a lot of really tall guys there.

Mom reads to me many nights before bed. This is a book of Bible stories for little children.

We took a break from reading to smile for the cameras.

Here's a video of Mom reading to me about Baby Moses. I'm not real sure why some parents would put their baby in a basket on the water. My Mom and Dad take much better care of me than that.

Mom and I like to wear pink a lot. It's a nice color for pretty girls. I'm wearing a dress that Grandma Pam made for me.

Sometime's Mom will play a game that she calls "Fishing for a Baby." I just try and grab the pacifier and put it in my mouth.

Time To Eat

I like to eat, although somedays more than others. I usually end up with just a little on my face, but I'm still cute.

My Furry Friends

I love dogs. Their fur feels really nice in my hands. Sometimes, I get dog hair on me, which my mom doesn't like, but it doesn't bother me.

This is Hank, the dog of Grandma and Grandpa Larson. He's a big dog but very gentle.

This is Fletcher. He's my dog. His hair is on all my clothes. My mom says that sometimes he's naughty, but I think he's a superstar. There have been a couple of times when he's licked my face, which usually makes me laugh. He told me that as I eat more and more food, he'll be happy to eat anything I don't want.

Football Saturday

The Michigan State-Northern Colorado was fairly unremarkable, other than it marked Elizabeth's first football game.

First, Mom and Elizabeth had their picture taken in front of the old Sparty.

Since Elizabeth is a VIP, she watched the game from a box in the press box.

Even Dad took some time out of his day at work to visit the family.

A Few Videos

Here are a few videos showing Elizabeth in action. She recently grew enough to fit in her Baby Einstein activity saucer. Her toes barely touch the bottom, but she's really good at putting the different things in her mouth.

When she's not sticking toys in her mouth, she just uses a foot.

Having Fun

As Elizabeth continues to grow, she is developing more and more of a personality. Recently, she's been laughing more frequently, as shown in this video.

Go Green!

It's the start of the college football season, so on Friday, Elizabeth wore her Michigan State gear to day care. She had a white onesie with a Block S logo on the chest and "Future Tailgater" written across the bum. Since Elizabeth is drooling a lot, she almost always gets a bib, in this case, her "Baby Spartan" bib. As you can see, Mom and Dad were both wearing their Spartan gear on Friday.

Of course, if any Nebraska relatives have access to "Baby Husker" gear, she'd love to wear that as well.

Cereal . . . Yum!

With Elizabeth having just turned four months old, it's time to try some solid food (or at least some soggy rice cereal with a lot of milk). So far, she likes it a lot and manages to keep most of it in her mouth. Anne does a great job feeding her.

Rogaine Anyone?

Elizabeth was born with a full head of hair, and it still looks great. But with her spending a lot of time on her back, she's worn a bald spot on the back of the head. Let's hope it grows back before her teenage years.

Look Who's Talking

After many failed attempts at catching Elizabeth talking on video, we were finally able to come up with this video. In previous attempts, she would be talking non-stop but clam up the moment the camera was turned on, deciding to just stare at the camera. I think she wants money (or extra milk) for her film work.

And speaking of milk, the other day Elizabeth decided to help out and feed herself.

My July

Hi. My name is Elizabeth and my dad has done a terrible job updating the blog. He also tells me that I need to get a job and start earning my keep, so I'm working on becoming a writer. Since he hasn't updated you on my life journey in over a month, I'm taking things into my own hands.

July started with a long car trip to Nebraska. I was a champ riding in the car but somewhere between Des Moines and Omaha, I had a little meltdown. Dad stopped to get gas at a station, surrounded on three sides by corn. Dad held me by the fields and the wind helped cool me down and calm me down.

Mom then fed me by the corn.

Once we made it to Nebraska, I met a lot of people. There was Jack and Mary Jo along with Max.

Dad's cousin Mark had his daughter Lily, but one of us was usually asleep, so we didn't play much.

I met Great Grandma Jansson. Someone tried to take a picture of four generations, but I wasn't too sure about Great Grandma and cried.

A couple days later, I was in a better mood for a photo with Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa and Great Grandma.

I even let Great Grandma give me a kiss.

It was nice to spend a lot of time with Grandma and Grandpa Larson. Grandma doesn't want me to be a spoiled princess, but you can't give me an outfit with sassy cowgirl boots and expect me not to have an attitude.

Grandpa did a great job holding me and singing to me. But I'd never heard any of the songs that he sang. They're not on the stations Mom listens to, and Dad makes me listen to sports talk radio. Also, I'm not really sure why, but Grandpa always kept asking me about my feelings.

After almost a week in Nebraska, it was time to go back home. One week later, Mom went back to work, and I went to daycare. I go to Appletree Christian Learning Center and I love it. I work on new things everyday and have met new friends. This is the picture my dad took on my first day of school.

I've become known as the girl at school that always wears nice clothes. (Sometimes I come home with a different pair on because I drool too much on one or pee on them when someone is changing my diaper.) This outfit is one of my favorites and was a huge hit at school. My Great Aunt Deb made this ladybug outfit for me. The shoes are my favorite part.

My mom made this hat for me to wear home from the hospital when I was born. As you can tell, it's a little too big.

Mom tells me I look like my Dad. What do you think?

One thing's for sure. Sometimes I'll wake up with crazy hair like my dad. (Notice that I'm also sitting up in the Bumbo chair).
