Eating Out

At five weeks old today, it was time for Elizabeth's first eating out experience. Well actually, she didn't eat out, but she slept and allowed Mom and Dad to eat at Los Tres Amigos. Of course she woke up midway through Mom's meal, which is par for the course. But we finished without incident and even made it to another store for a few minutes.

We liked the way Elizabeth was sleeping with hands on the knees.

For Your Viewing Pleasure

Making Noise

Elizabeth likes to be in the changing table section of her pack-and-play. It's where she does her most talking.

Today was Elizabeth's one month check-up, although she'll be five months old tomorrow. She continues to making great progress. She is 22 7/8 inches (90th percentile) and 10 lbs, 5 oz (73rd percentile).

Growing Big

Elizabeth is less than four weeks old, but she's already growing out of some of her clothes. Her weight's not the issue, but she's just too long. We have a nice assortment of newborn and 6-month clothes, but Anne informs me that we'll be purchasing some 3-month pajamas very soon.

In this picture, Elizabeth is probably wearing this outfit for the last time. It had cool frogs on the feet and was one of my favorites. Tonight, she was wearing pajamas with ladybugs on the feet, and that won't last long either. Oh well, on to something else.

In other happenings, the weather was nicer over the last weekend so the family got to go for its first walk. (Please ignore the tall grass, it's much shorter now.) It was also the first time using the jogging stroller (or walking stroller in our case) and we loved it. On Sunday we walked to the local convenience store for a Sunday paper and dad showed great restraint by not getting any donuts. Sunday also included a trip to Wal-Mart. Elizabeth does great in her other stroller at stores as long as we keep moving. (On a side note, there were several Wal-Mart Wolverines sporting their best circa-1990s sweatshirts and mullets, but we didn't take the camera inside. It's funny when stereotypes are proven true.)

Please, No Pictures!

Mother's Day

Anne's first Mother's Day was a special time for her and Elizabeth. The day was spent at Grandma Linda's house where we were joined by Uncle Hugh and Great Grandma Marie and Great Grandpa Bill Taylor. We also got the chance to celebrate Linda's birthday.

Mom feeding Elizabeth. She's finally having some great feedings and gaining weight (Elizabeth that is - Anne is doing a great job losing the pregnant weight.) You'll notice the charm bracelet on Anne's right hand - a Mother's Day gift courtesy of Matt. The bracelet features a little girl, a small baby booty with a pink stone, a Spartan charm and a turtle.

Swing Time

As you can see, Elizabeth is becoming a fan of her My Little Lamb Swing. It's a brief moment in time where she doesn't need to be held, and yet is still awake, storing up her sleepy time for night.

Too Darn Cute

Life at the Larson household continues to be an adventure. There are ups and downs, but every day is a treat. Elizabeth's lungs work quite well as she proves every day with her cries, but most of the time she's our precious little angel. For proof, look no further than the photos below.

Sucking her thumb for the first time.

A very alert baby, Elizabeth is always aking in her surroundings.

Sleeping in her bouncer.

A lot of people (but mostly Mom and Dad) touch Elizabeth on the head, requiring her to get a bath every few days.

Money Maker

These photos were taken in the hospital approximately 65 hours after Elizabeth's birth. A professional photographer comes around to each room, shows mom and dad proofs and they buy way too many prints of their adorable daughter. It's a great business model because we're all suckers. But thanks to the scanner at work, we can share the photos with everyone.
